Martha D. Henderson is the Managing Attorney for the Law Offices of Martha D. Henderson and Associates in Northridge, CA.  She directly handles all phases of Workers’ Compensation cases, throughout Southern California, utilizing her extensive experience as a former House Counsel for a large national insurance company and a senior litigation attorney for a mid-size Workers’ Compensation firm.  Martha also served as Managing Partner at a Mid-Wilshire Workers’ Compensation firm.  There she was responsible for business development, staffing and training associates all while successfully managing a full caseload.

With a “never quit philosophy,” Martha has the tools necessary to indentify clients’ needs and to insure the quality of work which has been a hallmark of her firm.  Martha’s philosophy of exceptional and aggressive representation of her clients’ interest has contributed to her outstanding reputation with her clients and the legal community.

Mrs. Henderson has been certified by the California State Bar as a Workers’ Compensation Specialist, a certification reserved for only the smallest segment of the California Bar.  To receive this certification she had not only to demonstrate a thorough command of the California Labor Codes and their Regulations by passing a rigorous written examination similar to the California State Bar Examination, but she also had to establish that she had successfully tried to conclusion a minimum of twenty matters before the Workers’ Compensation tribunals within a relatively short period of time.  Martha has encouraged and worked with other attorneys to obtain this certification.  Martha’s work truly distinguishes her from her peers practicing in similar areas of the law.

Martha is a frequent lecturer on substantive topics including the California Labor Code, trial techniques, and case management skills.  Her skill as a trial lawyer and acumen as a trainer have made her an often invited speaker at client meetings, where she provides individual and group training on topics ranging from interpreting code sections, to avoiding sanctions and penalties.

Knowing that she wanted to become an attorney after leading her high school debate team to many victories, Martha has been relentless in her dedication to the practice.  After graduating from the University of Illinois Wesleyan, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Martha received her Juris Doctorate from National University School of Law. 

Martha has continued to be passionate about the law and her role as a leader in this field.  She is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, the Langston Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
